The Public Association “Institutum Virtutes Civilis” (IVC) is an independent, non-partisan civil society organisation established in the Republic of Moldova in 2017. IVC promotes democratic values, human rights, and good governance while contributing to the development of effective public policies that respond to people’s needs and priorities.
IVC’s mission is to strengthen participatory democracy and advance respect for human rights in Moldova through the following core programmes:
- Good governance: transparent institutions, inclusive policies and empowered communities program. Through this programme, IVC advances accountable, transparent, and inclusive governance by strengthening the capacity of local and central public authorities to develop responsive, evidence-based policies in meaningful partnership with citizens. It promotes localised, gender-sensitive peace and security approaches while empowering people of all ages, particularly women, young people, and underrepresented groups, to participate in democratic processes, drive positive change, and champion democracy and human rights in their communities.
- “Women and Youth Empowerment Program empowers women and young people to assume leadership roles and participate meaningfully in public life and decision-making at both community and national levels. Its flagship initiative is the Women for Leadership and Good Governance Academy (W4L), which equips participants with the knowledge, skills, networks, and confidence needed to become effective leaders and agents of change
- Social Cohesion through European Democratic Values Program contributes to building an informed, inclusive, and resilient society by deepening public understanding of Moldova’s European integration path and enabling citizens to engage actively in the country’s reform process. It also strengthens the capacity of individuals, civil society organisations, and communities to identify and counter disinformation, respond to emerging threats, and safeguard social cohesion and democratic resilience.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively contribute to day-to-day project/s implementation and ensure conformity with the project action plans and expected results;
- Provide assistance in the day-to-day implementation of the Project to the IVC Team Leader and the project staff;
- Support formal and informal communications in compliance with the IVC and the donor’s requirements as well as with the national legislation; contribute to the implementation of the procurement procedures, according to the IVC, donor’s procedure and national legislation;
- Facilitate regular communication with all partners, beneficiaries, experts, service providers and government representatives;
- Scheduling, filing, preparing documents, organising meetings and travel, collecting invoices, maintaining participant lists;
- Coordinating activities, monitoring implementation, collecting data, contributing to drafting reports;
- Contributing to work plans and visibility activities;
- Prepare and distribute outgoing communications products including, but not limited to formal correspondence/letters/agreements, project fact sheets, minutes of the meetings etc.;
- Compile data, perform data entry and data verification in relation to project administration processes and support the knowledge management and programmatic file storage of the Project
- Provide assistance in delivery of activities on the ground, ensure communication with project beneficiaries, including the project grantees;
- Support travel and logistics arrangements for staff and visitors. Schedule and coordinate appointments. Provide logistical and communication support to event planning activities
- Assist with the visibility of Project activities, etc.
- TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
- Ability to work with figures, undertake basic research and gather information from standard sources
- Experience of working for the non-governmental sector
- Experience in working with state stakeholders at national and local level
- Strong drafting, presentation and reporting skills
- Experience in data collection and analyses
- High level of accuracy in work
- Good time management skills with ability to work on multiple tasks
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in projects financed by UN, EU and other donors/international agencies is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented
- Good knowledge and understanding of good governance, civil society issues, and gender equality
- REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, project management, business administration, public administration, management, economic studies, marketing, international relations;
- Working experience of a minimum of 1 year in an office environment in a clerical or administrative role. Experience with local or international NGOs /companies and projects is an advantage;
- Experience with data entry into online databases and forms;
- Experience in the MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and information management systems. Proficient in Word and Excel;
- Experience designing communications products such as fact sheets, newsletters, blogs and social media posts is a strong advantage;
- Strong desire to learn and grow and be part of social development in Moldova;
- Fluent in Romanian and English;
- Flexibility to work outside the normal working hours and able to travel across the country for periodic field visits.
